Delivery Policy
We keep stock of most of our collections in silver, and of our most popular designs in 9ct yellow gold. If an order is placed for an item we have in stock, we aim to dispatch it within 24 hours of payment (excluding weekends and public holidays).
However, as we have a large range, a number of our designs are made only to order. We acknowledge every order by email and if an item cannot be delivered straight away we will provide an estimated delivery date. If you have a specific deadline for your order – for example, a special occasion such as a birthday – please let us know. We will do our very best to meet your deadline, or let you know if it is not possible to do so, allowing you to choose an alternative.
18ct yellow gold and other special metals such as white gold are not held in stock and are always made to order.
Dispatch times for items not in stock will be estimated for you at the time you order, but they are usually as follows:
- Silver and 9ct yellow gold: five to six weeks
- 18ct yellow gold: six to seven weeks
- All other metals: eight weeks
This may seem like a long time to wait, but remember that our workshop is making the piece of jewellery you ordered specially for you. They start from scratch, and work painstakingly to achieve the highest levels of quality at every stage of production. This takes time, but does ensure you get a beautifully-finished piece of Ola Gorie jewellery, crafted uniquely for you.

Orders sent within the UK usually take 24 hours to be delivered once they have left our premises. Post usually leaves Orkney around 2pm, so if you are in the UK you can expect to receive your package in the following day’s post. Occasionally there are delays because of bad weather, or congestion in the postal service, but these are rare.
We always email you to let you know when your jewellery has been dispatched, so you know when to expect its arrival.
Click and Collect
If you live in Orkney, or are visiting, you can order on our website and collect your order from our shop, The Longship. (Just choose Click and Collect when you checkout.) Customs Charges
The relevant Customs information will be attached to the parcel. Customs charges may apply, and be chargeable upon delivery. Please note we cannot be held responsible for such charges.
Non-Delivery of Goods
If you do not receive your order within a reasonable time of dispatch from our premises, allowing for shipping time, please contact us immediately so that we can track your order for you.
Please note it is not possible to guarantee delivery times on any items. We cannot accept any responsibility for delays caused during shipping, once goods have left the premises.
Don’t worry! We send hundreds of packages around the world every year. It is rare for parcels to be delivered later than estimated above, and it is very, very rare indeed for parcels to go missing entirely. But if you have any concerns, please just let us know and we will investigate.
Delivery over Christmas and peak periods
To avoid disappointment, please note that during our peak periods – November and December in the run up to the festive season – we encourage customers to place their orders as early as possible. At this time of year delivery can sometimes take longer due to the increased demand, and slowing down of postal systems around the world. Last order dates will be advised later on in the year.
Please note that we usually close from 12 noon on December 24 and re-open for business at 9am on January 4.
